SpiderAds

Real-Time weather ads, helped BRIS reach children in crisis.

Together with BRIS, Kid Collective, and Grit Media, SpiderAds developed an innovative solution that used live weather data to trigger localized support ads in children’s native languages — reaching them with important information exactly when they needed it most. The project was recognized for its creativity and impact with a nomination in the Innovation category at Guldägget.

The Challenge

When BRIS launched new hotlines in Ukrainian and Arabic, very few children found their way to them. At the same time, many young refugees suffering from PTSD were being triggered by everyday events like thunderstorms — moments when their need for support peaked. Yet reaching them exactly when it mattered most — and doing so in a way that felt accessible and in their own language, proved difficult.

Our solution

Together with BRIS, Kid Collective, and Grit Media, SpiderAds built a real-time API that scanned SMHI’s open weather data and triggered targeted ads the moment a thunderstorm hit a region. These ads were localized by geography and language, delivering BRIS’s support message directly into children’s social feeds — in Ukrainian, Arabic, or Swedish — exactly when they needed it most.

Our Impact.

Strateg & Partner

“Spiderads helped us meet a humanitarian mission with technical problem-solving. By using automated advertising triggered by lightning strikes, BRIS was able to deliver important information to children caught in a thunderstorm, in real time.”
