SpiderAds nominated for Guldägget 2025
Together with BRIS, Kid Collective and Grit Media
SpiderAds is proud to have contributed to BRIS’s “ Blixtannonsering” – nominated for Guldägget 2025 in the category Innovation. The campaign highlights the impact of combining data, empathy, and technology to reach vulnerable children when it matters most.
When BRIS launched new support hotlines in Ukrainian and Arabic, few children found their way to them. Many kids fleeing war suffer from PTSD, and everyday triggers like thunder and lightning can spark traumatic memories. At the same time, social media usage among children increases by 90% during storms – presenting a rare and urgent window to reach them
Weather Alerts Trigger BRIS Support Ads for Kids in Their Own Language
In collaboration with Kid Collective and Grit Media, we at SpiderAds built a world-first API that scanned open weather data from SMHI in real time. When a thunderstorm moved across a region, our system activated social media ads – localized by geography and language – delivering a clear message in the child’s native tongue: “BRIS is here to help.”
800% More Kids Reached Out — BRIS Campaign Goes Europe-Wide
During the record-breaking summer storms of 2024, over 3,368 children found their way to BRIS, and hotline calls increased by 800%. Today, BRIS is working to bring this model to sister organizations across Europe – ensuring that even more children on the move can access support when they need it most. We’re incredibly proud to have played a role in this work, and grateful for the trust and partnership of BRIS, Kid Collective, and Grit Media. A special thanks to our Delivery and Development team for powering the technology behind the campaign’s lightning-fast presence in social media.
